abstract:
The present era is a time when technology has rapidly advanced, allowing society, especially the youth, to access information more comprehensively. It cannot be denied that this era has connections to the past, particularly to the Sturm und Drang period. Sturm und Drang was a literary movement in Germany where emotions and social criticism were prioritized over reason and logic.
During this period, a German writer named Johann Wolfgang von Goethe composed a poem titled Mailied, which translates to May Song. This title can be interpreted as a celebration of the beauty of spring in Germany, specifically in the month of May. However, it can also be seen as a metaphor for a young woman's beauty, compared to the splendor of nature in spring. The poem serves as an expression of heartfelt emotions and reflects the background of the youth movement's struggles during that era.
This poem tells of the beauty of nature and romance. Although it depicts beauty in various aspects, it is essentially an emotional expression of an individual.

"Bukti-bukti semiotika triadik charles pierce dalam puisi erlkonig" is one of the scientific paper that has been published on 2023 collaborated with Muhammad Iqbal Ikhsani and Najla Esa Syahirah

Abstract:

This research will focus on a poetic analysis of the meaning in a poem Erlkönig by J.W. von Goethe using Charles Sanders Pierce's triadic analysis, namely: representamen, object, and interpretant. The qualitative method in the form of a literature review study was used in this research, using Sugiyono's research procedures of data description, reduction and selection. The study, which was conducted from April to May 2023, found that there are no research that shows triadic aspects of Goethe Erlkonig poem analysis yet. This research aims to appreciate and analyze literary works using Charles Sanders Pierce's triadic semiotic theory. The results obtained in the form of evidence of Pierce's triadic semiotic elements in the poem Erlkönig by Goethe. Representamen showed in a form of evidence that Goethe adapted Elveskud, and the next item is object, which showed in the result and discussion. Interpretant in this research showed in form of explanation in relation of Strum und Drang era in this writing of this poem. The result of this research fulfilled the focus to show the 3 triadic aspects of pierce theory.
